WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Many organization sponsored youth mentorship groups have a focus on service which may discuss mental health and coping concerns.  Demoiselle Noire is different because it takes the approach of prioritizing the youth's mental and emotional wellness, with the understanding that mentally healthy youth tend to excel in all other areas.  Additionally, many of these groups have grade criteria for membership.  This means students who may struggle academically, will not have access to the same types of experiences and supports, which puts them more at a disadvantage.  La Femme Noire Collective, Inc. believes that by promoting mental wellness in all girls, those who struggle can also thrive.  We believe that giving girls these skills will help them improve academically, build healthy relationships with family, friends, and others within their communities, and learn more about themselves in a way that promotes high self-esteem.  We believe those who choose to become members of Demoiselle Noire can, and will, EMERGE ENLIGHTENED!
